Delta Cordless Drill

One of my favorite Delta tools is the Pure Clear Delta Cordless Drill. If you are like me, you are a pro in the construction field. You use tools all day long and they have to be very reliable. The last thing you want to do is ruin your Delta tools by over exposing them to salt water or improper use. This can shorten the life of your drill. This article will give you tips on how to use your drill more effectively to protect your tools from damaging and needing repair.

Be sure to always place your drill in a dust free area. While you are drilling, it is easy for dust to settle at the bottom of the drill and if this happens you will have issues with your power tool. I also like to place it in a bucket that has a lid so that the dust can be easily removed.

Always make sure that you never leave your drill plugged in when not in use. The last thing you want to do is get into an unsafe situation. The electric current can be very strong and you could easily burn yourself. I also recommend that you leave the power cord off when you are not drilling as well.

When cleaning the drill, you want to make sure that it is clean. I use regular old dish soap to clean my drill. Try not to use metal scouring pads as these will scratch the drill. I prefer the microfiber type of cloths because they are gentle on the drill. Just wipe off any metal bits with the cloth and you’re good to go.

There are some things you need to know to avoid damaging your drill. Always check the battery before changing it. Make sure it isn’t leaking. Sometimes you can get a tiny bit of oil on the stick when changing it. It’s very small and easily cleaned up.

The last step is to turn off the power and unplug it. You don’t want to damage the battery. Now you’re ready to drill away. Good luck!

The only way that I have found to clean the stick is to use mineral spirits. It’s inexpensive, easy to find, and doesn’t damage anything. Just be sure and do a complete and proper cleaning.

If you are using other materials such as sandpaper, primer or paint, then you should still follow the same steps. If you are using the power tool for the first time, it is a good idea to get an empty glass from the local hardware store. Pour some of the mineral spirits into the glass. Now you can gently scrub the stick with a rag. Make sure to get any oil or dirt off the drill as you go.

Hopefully this article has helped you clean your cordless drill. If not you can always call customer service and they should be able to help you out. And remember, keeping your drill clean is essential in order to keep it working properly.
