We all look for easy and simple ways to get things done with little to no effort. We also realize that it usually takes a bit of effort on our part to see any form of success in whatever path we take. Like the title says, math the fun and easy way, which is what we’re going to discuss, but I just want to make it clear that fun doesn’t mean effortless. So I’m going to suggest a few things you can do that take a bit of effort but are fun. If you have fun with it, it won’t seem like such a burden, even if it takes a bit of effort. This method does not consist of hard work but constant work. Rain, sleet, snow every day you need to do this. I’m only kidding, but I want to stress the fact that it takes dedication.

dunking a tennis ball

There are countless ways to get creative when learning to jump higher in basketball, but one method that I have found to be very effective and fun at the same time is to dunk a tennis ball. Dunking with a tennis ball allows you to work on your vertical jump but will also keep you motivated because you’re still dunking a ball. Dunking is a very exciting feeling that makes the player feel powerful and a bit arrogant. The excitement you get is absolutely incredible. Imagine you’re dipping into Kobe Bryant or Lebron James or whoever you want and use this as fuel to keep pushing yourself into the last moments of your training.

The training

The training consists of a very basic plan of 50 dunks with both legs, 25 dunks with the right leg and 25 dunks with the left leg. This method is working to strengthen both legs evenly. This training should be increased to 10-15 dunks per leg each week. You should jump at least 250-300 times a day. I know it sounds easy, but remember that the edge needs to be at a challenging height. The edge has to be high enough that you can just run your fingertips over your forehead.

using resistance

When dunking becomes too easy, the next step is to add some resistance, like a set of 5-pound ankle weights. Do not wear ankle weights that weigh more than 2.5 pounds per leg. This will be much heavier than you can imagine. Once you reach that milestone where you’re dunking the basketball every time without missing, get creative with your dunks. Be smart and enjoy the process and you’ll be well on your way to jumping higher in basketball the easy and fun way.
