With all the new graphics-intensive gaming systems being released every few years, many people may think that older gaming systems may not be very fun, but let me tell you from personal experience that they are sorely mistaken. I own several of the older gaming systems, and I enjoy playing them as much as the newer things that are being released. There is something about the classic systems that keeps you coming back for more.

Sony’s first PlayStation can be purchased used for less than fifty dollars, all the games are currently on the market and they are so much fun. The games can be purchased used, with a significant savings over what they cost new. If you can’t afford a new ps3, or don’t want to spend that much money on a new system, the ps1 is a great alternative.

Some of my favorites are the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Cartridges are stronger and more impact resistant than CDs and DVDs, making them ideal for young children who are not old enough to take good care of their games. Many great games that are available on newer systems started on these systems, and the classics are just as fun.

If you are an adult who played these games as a child, you can relive some of these great memories for very little money, and it’s a great way to get your young kids to play without spending a lot of money.
