There is a certain set of moral values and traditional beliefs that are passed down from the older generations to the newer generations. However, these values and beliefs are now not keeping up with the latest trends in the education system. We all know that change is inevitable. Based on this theory, the education system must also undergo a tremendous change so that it can cope with the rapidly changing times. We must leave behind the old standards of reading, writing and learning to implement new methodologies. Today’s world is a global village and the current educational system revolves around this thinking.

Issues whether related to academic issues or to social concerns are being talked about at an international level and not at a national or regional level. Today’s schools are not teaching the lessons of patriotism. No one wants to limit their child’s thinking to the borders of a country. Today’s teachers teach the lesson of unity in diversity. Instead of teaching “God bless America,” teachers emphasize “We are the world.” Lessons that give even a hint of racism or traditionalism have been thrown out of the textbooks. The textbooks have lessons that are compatible with everyone. Social issues are also related to issues like global warming and other environmental issues.

The question that arises is, is all this that is happening for the best? Are we sure that this transformation of the educational system will not have bad results? It’s about time we the people put on our thinking caps and take charge of this situation. All the things that are happening have a politically correct angle attached to them. The next generations are getting dumber. We are sending our children to schools to make them even dumber. Moral values are the lowest with today’s youth.

Children find it very difficult to respect their elders and you can’t blame them for that. They are not taught that it is important to respect the elders.

Today’s children are more impatient and lack common sense. The only good thing they see in the whole world is their video game console. They are free to play whenever and wherever they want. Interest in studies is also waning as there are many governments around the world that have banned the concept of failing children up to a certain age. This was done as a step to improve the education system, but the irony of the situation is that the level of education has fallen even lower than before because children have stopped taking their studies seriously.

Giving children a modern education is a good thing to happen, but this modern age education must carry with it the old morals, values and beliefs to bring about an overall betterment of the society. A perfect combination of the old and the new concepts will not only make excellent professionals but also good human beings.
