Here come two simple short stories, oh not so short from an author who is incomparable! Everything i read Sudha murty, author of this book, I am mesmerized and delighted. The stories are simple but moving. Once you start reading a story, you won’t be able to put the book down to read another day, you have to finish it, and everything else can wait.

The first story is about a man, who is trapped in a loveless marriage with the only hope in life, being his beloved daughter, who is in college, loves him to the core and believes in his ideology and way of life. He is very rich, or let’s say his wife is very rich because he never cared about money and she has everything, every penny in her bank accounts and she is running after money all the time. He is transferred to a small town, he is visiting for the first time. Soon, everyone in the new city begins to mistake him for a school teacher. He soon decides to meet with the school teacher and discover the truth about the mistaken identity. When he meets the school teacher and her family, a truth about his father is revealed to him. He is shaken by the past, unable to tell everyone, but unable to hide it. He finally decides to tell the truth to his daughter, who takes him in the right spirit and nudges him to tell her mother and brother. As the truth is revealed, all the mother and son duo care about is money.

The second story is about a son, whose wife has an accident and his father dies at the same time in two different places. He rushes back to his mother, when his wife urges him to leave, saying that she should be able to take care of herself. After his father’s cremation, his brother-in-law asks everyone to find out the details of the will. As the will is read, it becomes quite clear that the father has left most of the assets and business to his son. Soon after, her sister stumbles upon an old photograph, which changes her life forever. The family soon discovers that he is not their real son and was adopted from a neighbor who was too poor and weak to care for him. He is heartbroken to find out about this and decides to meet his biological mother to see her one last time and sets out on the journey. The trip reveals the whole truth to him and he is no longer the man he was a fortnight ago. Your whole existence is now a question!

Both stories are very simply and brilliantly written, showing various faces of human nature and how circumstances sometimes force people to make decisions that can alter someone’s life forever. A short, simple but wonderful book to read!
