One of the most famous lines in film history is:

We are no longer in Kansas.

So, like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, how can you know that you are not home anymore?

1) People talk funny

For some of you, the local language will not be your first language. In this case, most of the words that will come out of people’s mouths will sound like alien gibberish. I feel sorry for you, but not too much.

The people I feel sorry for are the people who speak the same language as the native speakers, but cannot understand a word of what they say because they have killed the language beyond belief or speak with an accent that is only understandable to a submarine. Sea Horse.

I wish God speed for both of you. Remember, one day you will look back and laugh at how you couldn’t understand anything that people were saying.

2) People look different

After many years of knowing what “everyone is supposed to look like,” suddenly there are people who challenge your expectations everywhere. The key here is not to be too surprised when you enter a train and realize that no one on the train appears to be from your local village.

3) People act strange

You will meet people who think and act very differently from you. You probably won’t understand their jokes or see the fun in what they consider to be a hobby or recreational activity. You might even be tempted to spend a lot of time complaining to your family members about “how weird and silly” they all are. Do not do that. Try to find out why they like what they like. You never know, you may discover a new hobby.
