Water parks have long been a regular part of the landscape, but their closed iteration has become increasingly popular, and no region has embraced them like Escape Water Park.
A unique culture has emerged in these hermetic worlds: one filled with people resolutely marching down long corridors in bathrobes and flip-flops, every imaginable fried food, and an undeclared but never-ending arms race to build ever more elaborate and complex water attractions. . daring-devilish. There are regulars of water parks, who seem to know all the specific secrets of each park, such as where to get a towel, how to claim an unoccupied seat in the mass of lawn chairs placed in front of the attractions and the wisdom of transporting boxes, even luggage carts, stacked with home-made cereals.
Within many of these parks, there is an essential standard fee: a padded area where young children can walk through the water sprinklers and jump on mini-slides in the shallowest puddles; a surf ride that mimics an ocean wave (and seems as galling to the newbie as actual ocean surfing); a lazy river that makes people float down a fascinating, gentle path and so on; a wave pool that bounces riders up and down, up and down, up and down, until one wave calms down and a new one sets in; and, of course, all the variety of slides and water attractions.
However, for all the reliable reserves, there is another constant in the giants among these parks, and it is the need to never stay the same. Overcoming is the rule. The rides must get taller, faster and more terrifying. And when that’s not enough, it’s time to turn to new dimensions on solid and regular land: slides and climbing walls.
The latest, then, in waterslides? How about locking yourself in a coffin-like capsule and enduring a sudden fall? It lasts only a few breathless seconds, but leaves memories, say those who have the audacity to try, that they are unshakable.
While many water parks share some characteristics, these places are in no way replicas of each other. They differ in scale, feel, and likely audience.
