In a centrifugal machine, the blades rotate at high speed inside the chamber. The product fed through the feed tube comes into contact with the rapidly rotating blades and crumbles and, due to centrifugal force, is thrown against the chamber walls made of mesh.
The juice flows through the mesh pores, and the pulp is thrown into the pulp box. When you feed leafy vegetables through this tube, they are not mashed or juiced, but simply thrown into the pulper.
Blend Vs Juice
Some people use blenders as it retains the pulp in addition to extracting the juice.
If you like to mix, there are options for that too. But don’t confuse between the two. Some people refer to juicers as blenders and vice versa. They are actually completely different machines.
While a Breville juice fountain separates the fruit into pulp and juice, a blender does not. Pulverize the whole fruit so it preserves the fiber and everything you put in the blender.
In a Breville juicer fountain juicer machine, all the solids: skin, pulp, seed, fiber are separated into a separate container and only the liquid part is squeezed into the juice container. It’s the concentrated goodness of fruit you get in a cup.
Not all appliances produce the same quality of juice. Due to the different methods used, the quality of the juice varies.
Centrifugal juicers use fast rotating blades to grind up the product and force the tiny pieces against a wire mesh which squeezes the juice through the tiny holes and into the juice container while the pulp is thrown into another container.
There is a lot of noise, heat and foam in these types of juices. The Breville juice fountain is a centrifugal type.
Advantages:
juice speed
Preparation times are low as large pieces can be introduced into the juicer machine
Accessible
Easy to assemble and use.
Cons:
Noise
Preparation time is longer
Low juice quality as nutrients are lost through oxidation and heat.
short shelf life
Chewable Juice Manufacturers:
A masticator-type apparatus, on the other hand, slowly grinds up the small pieces between the slow-moving auger and the outer tube-like casing of the juicer machine and slowly and deliberately squeezes out the juice.
You can’t rush a masticator-type juicer machine. It is slow and you have to get used to the slow and quiet working method. The quality of the extracted liquid is higher as there is no agitation of the juice, so there is very little oxidation.
Also, the yield is higher compared to a Breville fountain juicer machine as every drop of liquid is extracted from the product. It works well even with tough green leafy vegetables.
Advantages:
Be quiet
High juice yield
Longer shelf life
multifunctional appliances
Cons:
Longer preparation times
Expensive
shredding type
There are other types of juicers like shredders that are equipped with twin gears.
These gears rotate and grind the product to extract high quality juice at low speed. All kinds of fresh products can be squeezed in this type of appliance without loss of quality.
But they are very big, heavy and expensive. These machines are generally designed for business purposes.
