Thanksgiving is upon us once again, yet it is the next day most of us are looking forward to. Specifically, many are looking for Black Friday iPad deals. The iPad remains the number one tablet despite its flash woes, though other tablet PCs are starting to catch up. The iPad 2’s retail price starts at $499 for the base model, and goes up to around $830 for the full version.

With the way the economy is right now, competition is stiff, and retailers are very interested in attracting customers. As a result, you can expect great deals on both the iPad and other tablets, especially with the launch of the Kindle Fire.

So what Black Friday iPad deals are available? First off, it’s worth noting that you can get $50 off a refurbished iPad 2 at any Apple retail store anytime. Similarly, Amazon also sells refurbished iPads at very low prices. Do you really need the extra thrills of the iPad 2 compared to the original? It’s worth taking the time to think about it; considering it at least!

Many retailers and online stores are gearing up for this day, and so far none have released any promotional pricing information related to the iPad 2. But retailers say there will be sales, even if it’s just shipping.

Retailers like Best Buy (in their latest promotional brochure) are directing people to the iPad 2 page on their website. Will a great price appear there? Amazon is being cautious about launching its promotions that will start on the Monday of Black Friday week, so keep an eye on those too. Retailers launch new deals every weekday leading up to Black Friday.

Walmart and Target are other good stores to pick up a Black Friday iPad deal. And never rule out eBay either. Although it doesn’t have specific Black Friday promotions like other retailers, you can still find a bargain there with many people focusing more on retailer promotions than online auctions.

In addition to the iPad 2, it’s also worth looking into the new Kindle Fire, which is available for considerably less than the iPad 2 and does many of the same things. Other tablets like the Blackberry Playbook are priced the same as the Kindle Fire at both Staples and Best Buy. Although both have a smaller screen size compared to the iPad 2, these devices are worth considering as cheaper alternatives.

Unlike Apple (which strictly controls the price of its products), the competition is much more flexible when it comes to pricing, and these alternative devices are also worth serious consideration.

So the best advice is to keep looking online and at all major electronics stores in the days leading up to Black Friday and be the first to find that deal. There are great deals and plenty of savings to be doled out in the Black Friday iPad deals.
