The Samsung BD-P1600 is simply amazing with its 1080p HD resolution. The colors are just wonderful and the images are very detailed. Normally I would prefer Japanese electronics, but Samsung was able to carve out a niche for itself in this industry. So I bet and here are my observations.

This is a very easy to use player. For those who feel that they are inept when it comes to configuring electronic devices, you won’t have to use your brain cells to make this player work. It is small and easy to install. For some users, you may no longer need to use the manual. It is easy to find where the cables should be plugged. But again, the manual is still considered for those who are not confident with their skills in electronic configuration.

The Samsung BD-P1600 is better than the previous model as it is smaller and less bulky. Its elegant appearance gave it more class and attractiveness. One thing I really love about this player is the Netflix and Pandora streaming included in the box. The interface is very easy to use and follow. Simply plug in the HDMI and ethernet cable and you’ll be online easily. Just set up your existing account with Pandora or Netflix.

For Netflix streaming, all you have to do is press ‘A’. The player will generate a code that you will need to set up the stream. Just log in to your account, use the code. The Samsung BD-P1600 will stream your preferred movie title that you have added to your instant playlist. It’s a perfect picture. Just like streaming Pandora, the commercial-free music service lets you listen to great music without those unnecessary distractions you don’t really need. After all, you already spent $300 on this player.

You may hear people complaining about the BD-Live feature of this player, don’t be discouraged. There is actually a simple solution that some users missed. Please note that the BD-Live function requires 1 GB memory connected. Now, by default, the BD-Live feature is enabled. So if you don’t have a flash drive connected and you play a BD-Live compatible disc, it won’t really play. The simple solution is to disable the BD-Live feature. For its mid-range price, this player is worth every penny.
