The current Covid pandemic has not been easy for anyone. Not many people will forget the year 2020 onwards. No one has been spared from the interruption of the routine of daily life. The worst thing is that it comes along with the need to wear a mask, social distancing and vaccination. In some more unfortunate cases, it brings the angel of death.

By my own observation, many travel plans have been put on hold and dining out has been a surprising luxury. Our basic ability to communicate has been modified for Zoom to take over and many students have become accustomed to the term Home Based Learning (HBL).

Even the workplace has not been spared. After the anticipation in the run-up to 2020, where there is heightened fear that artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics could take away our precious jobs, and the widespread arrival of cryptocurrencies that promise us better returns with even more investment volatility , now we are to work from home and get used to Zoom communications. We have never encountered feelings of isolation, confusion, and helplessness all at the same time.

Here are some tips to help us:

1. Slowdown

We must learn to slow down and take stock of what has happened over the last two years. There should be a quiet and humble reflection of past events. Take your time. You are not required to use Tiktok time.

2.TV Broadcast

Sometimes it’s okay to catch up on our favorite shows through streaming services. We can use our mobile device to connect to this world. Browse Netflix and Disney+… why not?

3. Review our goals

There may be a chance that our life goals were created before Covid and may not be relevant in light of Covid now. On the other hand, Covid may have brought new business opportunities and we may need to renew our sales forecast.

4. Work from home

The current situation of working from home may not be appealing to many because these workers miss the social nature of meeting with colleagues. There is additional stress that the boss may not find enough evidence to be satisfied with our work and we may have to throw key performance indicators (KPIs) out the window. Try to make your home work area more conductive and private.

5. New learning

We can learn from the YouTube platforms and always keep our minds open to improve.

6.Travel

Maybe we need to get used to no more business travel and learn how to use Zoom to connect with our foreign business partners.

7. Exercise

Take this opportunity to exercise more and have a better diet.

8. Don’t hoard

Perhaps you can refresh your immediate surroundings and start decluttering. You can also start color coding your stuff so you can be more time efficient and find what you need much faster.

9. Listen to the podcast

I am a business podcaster and have also found a lot of satisfaction in being able to focus on the message and takeaways of podcasts.

All the best in your future working life.
