The Cyprus dream of a villa has become a reality for many people, whether as a holiday home or relocation. Cyprus road maps show that the island has five districts; Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca, Nicosia and Famagusta. Each area has its own distinctive appeal and character.

At the western end of the island are the charming little towns of Polis and Latchi. All around you will find the real Cyprus in the traditional villages and beautiful areas bordering the Akamas Peninsula. Cyprus road maps will help you locate properties for sale in Cyprus in off the beaten path places that offer peace and tranquility that appeal to those who enjoy the varied outdoor activities including walking, hiking and bird watching.

In the same district as Paphos, Cyprus in villa can be the holiday hub of the city itself, Kato Paphos is the main focus of tourist areas and Cyprus road maps also show the popular areas around Coral Bay and Peyia . These are great for vacation homes and can be rented out to other tourists when not in use by their owners. Paphos is a year-round tourist hub, but is quieter in the winter months.

Further along the coast to the east is the cosmopolitan city of Limassol. The Cyprus properties for sale here are located in the city itself, which has over 15 km of coastline, where all the water sports are located. The Troodos Mountains dominate behind the city, through the foothills and past vineyards and quiet villages to find little whitewashed churches and remote monasteries and cool, shady forests.

Larnaca is a working city of about 75,000 people, there are mainly agricultural areas and there is a great balance of locals and expats living together in harmony in the outlying villages, Oroklini, Pyla and Pervolia being very popular. The proposed golf course at Tersefanou has turned that town into a real estate hotspot.

Nicosia has a niche as the capital of the island, as it is locked into the center and gets at least 5 degrees warmer than the coastal regions in the summer. This is where the main administrative institutions are and there are excellent shops.

The Famagusta area is very flat and is where the holiday destinations of Protaras and Ayia Napa are located. Cyprus in a villa will be busy in the summer season but very quiet in the winters where all the attractions and many of the facilities are closed. The location has excellent views of the sea, beaches and rocky coves.

This is a brief overview of the various Cyprus villa locations and Cyprus property for sale can be found in the urban metropolis of Nicosia or on top of a mountain in Troodos, all on the diverse little island come and see for yourself.
