Cole Hamels, the baseball pitcher, was on his team’s disabled list about a year ago and had to miss most of the games during that period due to injuries. This is the same pitcher who is now being celebrated as the Most Valuable Player for helping his team win the World Championship in the 2008 World Series.

He pitches for the Philadelphia Phillies. He began to develop elbow problems during the latter part of the 2007 season, and they were so severe that they kept him on the sidelines. He had previously suffered from knee pain and problems related to hip pain, but had received help in the form of chiropractic assistance.

Before the start of the 2008 season, it is known that he asked his team management for the availability of chiropractic care for himself and his teammates when they were playing in Philadelphia. He also requested that this Chiropractic care also be provided in the other cities they travel to to play their scheduled games.

Once the team’s management agreed, Hamels went on to say that using the help of a chiropractor had worked very well for him, and that it was a good thing that the management had started a team of chiropractors in different cities. This was in April 2009. He went on to say that after this chiropractic care was fully available, he was of the opinion that they could hit the 20-win mark for that season.

While he fell short of the 20 game number he had set for himself, he finished the year with a remarkable 14-10 record. This led his team to the conference championship and also earned them a place in the play-offs. This is the moment when Hamels did very well.

The first of his playoff appearances was against the Milwaukee Brewers. He did a great job and got his team into the next round where they had to face the Los Angeles Dodgers. He pitched in the first game of the series and again helped his team win, earning his team a spot in the World Series. Then the MVP was awarded to Hamels for the League Championship Series.

Due to recent success and feeling good about his health, the World Series saw him take the mound in Game 1 against the Tampa Bay Rays and help his team to a victory. Hamels was called up to play again in the last game and launched his way to victory. He earned the coveted MVP award for his performance in the 2008 World Series.

His astonishing performance in the postseason along with the record of 4 wins and no losses is sure to be remembered for some time to come. Unlike the 2007 season, in which he was nursing his throwing arm, Hamels was now in the spotlight and even appeared on various television shows such as the Late Night Show with David Letterman.

It is obvious that the confidence he had in chiropractic care, along with his willingness to work to take care of his physical condition, had helped him to be successful during the season. Well done chiropractors, the Phillies and Cole Hamels.
