They say that every woman should have a basic black dress, because of its versatility.

The many functions it can be carried to. Combine it with a jacket to make a different look, add accessories and possibly have more looks. So, to the subject of this article, fashions, trends or classics. What does that mean for today’s women and their jewelry? What do you want to have in your collection, the latest fashion, this season’s fashion or the really classic pieces? So let’s examine all three.

first fashions. A fad refers to something that becomes popular in a culture relatively quickly, but falls out of popularity dramatically. So is there a place for fads in your jewelry collection? Yes, but I recommend not spending a lot on the parts. Those pieces that everyone wears. And yet, maybe they are that piece of fashion jewelry that you love. That you can see yourself using over and over again. That’s the piece you want to invest the most in, especially if you’re sure it won’t end up in your daughters playwear trunk.

Now, not all fads become trends, and thank goodness many don’t, if they did exactly what goodwill stores would sell. We’ve all had our share of fads, the things we looked at later and thought what I was thinking. The photo we wish was never taken. Thank goodness those jewelry fads don’t stay with us for long. That something else moves in to take its place. It is arguable that a fashion that remains popular for a significant period of time typically loses its importance in current popular culture as it evolves and becomes accepted in the everyday culture of a society as trends (for example, television, Internet, music, video game).

A fad that became a trend and I think has now become a staple of jewelry designs is the necklace. And in 1995, you could see it on the neck of many celebrities, so everyone wanted one. But soon the Y necklace will be made with all kinds of materials, chains, crystals, precious stones and many more. So now you have a fashion trend.

Today’s jewelry trends are deep, warm and majestic tones, as well as clear crystals and even natural elements like wood, which was popular in the hottest styles of summer. And the current trend in metals is towards warmer toned metals. Shimmering, shiny metals give it a modern look, while browns of aged metals give it a dreamy, feminine look. The other trend is to mix velvet elements with cotton. Multi-strand chains with different styles and sizes of chain. Ribbon, natural fibers and even threads will set the trend this fall.

One of the biggest trends in handmade jewelry was the chandelier earring. They are slowly being replaced by some longer, skinnier styles. The stiletto earring will be the thing this fall. For me, trends are pieces that go with more than one outfit and have the versatility to be worn day and night. But more than anything I think that jewelry trends are made more by you than anyone or anything. Your personal taste determines what is a trend for you. The pieces that you have that if they break, you just have to replace them. The look you say your friends when they see, they say Susan would love that. Fashion forecasters can decide the colors of the new designs and the type of fabric in which those designs are made. But they cannot decide our personal tastes.

So what is a trend for you? Is it the thing you have to have because everyone around you has one or is it the style that suits you best? Something you feel better wearing. The design you love and desire in all the colors and materials in which it is made.

And now to the classics for me these are the pieces that as they say never go out of style. Simple diamond post earrings, a knotted pearl necklace, you get the picture. These are the pieces that you invest in that you plan to leave to your children, the ones that your grandmother and your mother left you. They are the ones that are given for a birthday, anniversary, Christmas and any other special occasion. Your first diamond is something a woman never forgets.

I just gave my daughters their first diamond. A diamond pendant that was made from my mom’s wedding ring that I kept. This is the classic piece that will endure through all the fads and fashion trends that may come and go. They go with those pieces because we love them and they have that special meaning in our lives.

I have heard that a woman will spend a little money on fashion, even on trend. But the classic piece is the investment that she will have and enjoy. Wear it proudly and know that she is always in style. Therefore, the bottom line is that fashions, trends and classics have a place in her jewelry collection. Every woman has the right to feel good about herself and the things she wears. She remembers to have fun and enjoy your treasures.
