From July 24-29, the best longboarders from around the world will gather on the stunning French Polynesian island of Tahiti to battle it out for the men’s and women’s European titles. Taharuu, Papara, the beautiful black sand beach, known for offering great surfing potential in all conditions, with waves from 3 to 8+ feet, will be the venue for the 4-star WLT event.

In the heart of Tahiti’s west coast, the town of Papara will welcome an international field of longboarders and witness incredible levels of pure surfing style and action. With its laid-back “island” lifestyle, Tahiti blends perfectly with the classic, smooth competitive aspects of longboarding and the sumptuous cocktail will definitely make this new stop on the world surf tour a hit.

Famous for its perfect barrels of crystal clear cerulean water, French Polynesia has been highlighted and popularized in recent years by the incredible Teahupoo phenomenon, and local initiatives along with the Tahiti Surf Federation are strongly pursuing the development of professional surfing in the midst from Pacific. Ocean ever since.

Co-licensed by ASP Europe and ASP Australasia, the Tahiti Pro Longboard will provide another great opportunity to surf the legendary style. This event will provide the crucial finale to the climactic 2007 European Longboarding Championships.
