The San Diego Chargers have always been a team that sticks together and fights for what it wants. Due to this drive, their fan base is loyal and dedicated to rooting them to a championship title. With several months to go until the start of the season, tickets are already in high demand and will disappear like never before.

The team had a phenomenal year last year and they were able to determine what their weaknesses are. From this, they decided to focus only on strengthening these weak points and nothing else. Management has chosen to look at the draft, only, for new players. There is a chance, if absolutely necessary, that a trade or free agent might get a chance, but not as far as is known at this point. The fans are excited and know that almost anything can happen at this point.

The Chargers originated under the ownership of Barron Hilton, the son of Conrad Hilton, in 1959. These were the days when there was still some joy in managing a football team; you weren’t tied down by all the red tape and legalities. When it came time to make changes to the team, it didn’t take long compared to what it takes today.

In 1960, the Chargers became members of the American Football League and played their first season as such in Los Angeles. It wasn’t until 1961 that they were truly known as the San Diego Chargers and began playing in what is now their hometown. Alworth, now a Hall of Famer, was one of the best Charger players during this time, coached by none other than Sid Gillman. This is where the Chargers came from, and this is where their foundation was solidified.

A few years later, the San Diego Chargers were sold to another franchise and began playing NFL teams like the New York Jets; whom they beat with pride! This was an amazing feat for the team since the Jets were Super Bowl champions in ’69. The Chargers’ coach fell ill and had to hand over his job to Charlie Waller, the team’s offensive backfield coach. The 1960s turned out to be a time of change for the team, and it was then that they began to make their rise to fame.

In more recent years, the team, regardless of personnel and player changes, is still fighting for the top, just as they did in the 1960s. Their record of 2,208, 7 wins against 8 losses, caught the attention of many new fans. . Fans new and old were suddenly looking for Charger tickets.

At the end of the season, they faced the Denver Broncos, whom they defeated with a final score of 52-21. This victory brought an AFC West Division title to his locker room and his loyal fans. He also led them to the playoffs as the fourth seed. The 2008 season turned out to be a good year for the Chargers and opened the door to a phenomenal 2009 season.

With a new season approaching, 2009, fans are dying to see the improvements from last year, along with the new members of the team. Management knows the weaknesses of the teams and will only accept players who strengthen the weak points – they are only improving what they thought was broken last year. With all the hype and anticipation, San Diego Charger season tickets will be selling faster than ever.
